WHOLESOME INGREDIENTS
Below is a list of our ingredients. Because it is required by the FDA that the ingredients be listed by their scientific names, sometimes it's hard to know clean ingredients from those that are not so clean. We have provided you with the scientific name of each ingredient, it’s commonly used name, along with the nutritional benefit it provides to your dog. We wanted to be transparent about what’s in our food and explain it in a way that is easy to understand.
Chicken By-Product Meal
Chicken source protein, made up mostly of internal organs such as liver, digestive tract, and kidneys. The intestines are a good source of smooth muscle protein. This ingredient is very digestible and very low in ash.
Corn Protein Meal
The dried residue from corn after the removal of the large part of the starch, gluten and germ in the processes to manufacture corn syrup. It is an excellent low-ash protein source which is highly digestible.
Brown Rice
Whole grain brown rice ground to a powder to help provide a steady supply of energy throughout the day. Source of fiber, carbohydrates and vitamin B.
Barley
Whole grain. Has 50% more protein than rice. Slow burning carbohydrate source, helps control blood sugar levels.
REVIEWS
Coat and Digestive Win!
I started my Black and Tan Hound/Doberman mix on this food about 3 months ago. In the first three weeks I noticed that his coat was much shinier and soft, his stools were also more firm. Prior to starting Voyager food he would itch around his head, and always seemed to have some dandruff. I personally love the quality ingredients, and how easy it is to manage your subscription if needed. Highly Recommend!!
Allergies and Pickiness
An amazing dog food for high energy dogs with food allergies/sensitivities. Our beagle went from having loose stools and hyperactive bowel sounds daily, to a quiet belly and healthy looking stools. He also gobbles down his food, he used to be a very picky eater and would turn his nose up to other brands of dog food. The bags last us a very long time and we are so very appreciative of the affordable price. Thank you for caring so much about the health of our dogs!
Shiny Coat ✨
Our 2 year old has been using the wholesome chicken now for a year and half and her coat is always shiny! She gobbles the food up right away. Happy with this product and even the customer service is excellent to deal with!
Great Dog Food
Since starting all my doberman's on this all their coats are shiny and no more dandruff. Also my oldest girl is no longer biting her paws. I recommend trying it and if they don't like the flavor just add canned chicken or tuna and they will love it. You will see results in just 2-3 weeks.
Happy Pups Happy Mom
With all the confusion about dog foods out in the world, and our furbabies paying the price with their health and sometimes their LIFE; it is a pet owners nightmare trying to figure out what is best for our fur family members; I accidentally came across this dog food and have begun my three pups on this dog food for the past 4 months; so far, I have had no issues; the 23 pound bags go quickly with three pups; one 60 pound 4 yr old lab, one 45 pound 6yr old retriever and one 15 pound 14 yr old jack russell/chihuahua ...but they are doing good and love this food! I just hope the price and the ingredients remain; life is so difficult for most of the world and I love my fur kids and do the best by them; they always COME FIRST.. Thank you Voyager for what appears to be BEING TRUE AND CARING .
Voyager Dog Food is Awesome & Can Prevent and Treat Copper Storage Disease
Our dog River is a 12 year old Black Labrador who is blind from SARDS diagnosed last year. He developed elevated liver enzymes a year ago that worsened over time. When he was given a presumptive diagnosis of Copper Storage Disease in January 2024, we did online research and learned about Voyager Dog Food co-founded by veterinarian Dr. Philip VanVrenken (MIchigan State University graduate) and reached out for help. We were very lucky that he actually called us back! Thanks to Dr. VanVrenken’s compassion and expert care, River got started on Voyager Dog Food and a short course of D-Penicillamine. Dr. VanVrenken’s expertise and experience guided us through this difficult decision making process for River. His kind understanding and amazing support gave us the courage and confidence to start medical treatment for River. We avoided putting him through an expensive procedure involving general anesthesia and a surgical liver biopsy with inherent risks and potential complications especially for a senior dog. River now has more energy and his liver enzymes have vastly improved. He now eats a homemade recipe formulated by Cornell University Veterinarian Nutritionist Dr. Joseph Wakshlag, who helped formulate Voyager Dog Food. We have switched all our other three dogs in our home to Voyager Dog Food too because it has no added chelated or manmade copper. Our friends are also switching to Voyager Dog Food for their dogs. River’s health journey has gifted us with new knowledge about Copper Storage Disease that we can share to prevent other dogs from suffering this preventable, often underdiagnosed illness.
Hands-down, the best, Dog Food, I’ve ever come across!
I’m very thankful to have been introduced to this dog food about five years ago. My black lab struggled with sensitivities to various different other foods, it was miserable, watching her be uncomfortable. She had also undergone the first of her TPLO surgeries by age 2. I started her on this food at age 5, within three months there were no signs of any allergies or skin irritations, her energy was off the chart and she’s been able to keep muscle on for another four years before needing her other TPLO surgery. During that time she was an active waterfowl dog, who would give all of herself to make retrieves for me. She’s now 10 years old, and after two surgeries, she’s retired from waterfowl hunting. However, her energy is high, and we know enjoy pheasant hunting together. I know, without a shadow of a doubt that Voyager Dog Food has made a huge difference in her life, and our life… it’s allowed us to continue a great story!
Best food for my best friend
My dog has always had ear issues and was an extremely picky eater. Since switching to Voyager about 4 years ago, his coat has improved, and he has had minimal ear issues. He absolutely loves the food and never leaves kibble in the bowl. He is the best hunting buddy, and the chicken diet has been great for all our hunting adventures!
We LOVE this food!
Voyager Dog Food has been the only safe and healthy food option we’ve come across. Our golden retriever, Daisy, had a lot of stomach issues and we had a hard time finding something that worked. We came across Voyager and will never look again. This food has resolved all of her previous stomach issues and we love knowing what it is made of. Thank you Voyager Dog Food for creating a safe, healthy, and delicious food for our sweet Daisy!
